OUR REASONS FOR ADOPTING

Adoption has been on Tricia’s heart ever since college, and it was always an option for us.  After we had been married a couple of years and hadn’t been able to get pregnant, we started praying about adoption and considering it more seriously.  We got to know a family in our church who had adopted their daughter who really helped us understand the process a lot more.  We have been pursuing adoption for over a year and are so excited about welcoming our child(ren) into our family!

OUR ADOPTION JOURNEY

God is good, and it’s not as scary as it can seem.  Our process hasn’t been normal or ideal.  We began our process in September 2010 and still do not have an approved home study.  Early in our marriage, we made some poor financial decisions and are working hard to pay off debt.  We have officially had our home study placed on hold (not approved but also not denied) twice during the process.  This has challenged us to make some major life changes, which include going to counseling, moving, and changing jobs.  Ultimately, God is using this adoption journey as an entire life journey.  As we draw closer to Him, He is preparing us to be better parents for our future children—ones we still believe He will bring into our lives through the adoption process.  For more information, visit flaglers.blogspot.com.  Also, if you have any questions, you can contact us at flaglersadopt@gmail.com.
